The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly‑talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA‑affiliated research institute. These one‑to‑three‑year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.

This opportunity is closed to applicants who are Senior Fellows (5‑years or more past PhD).

• Integrate water isotope data from the Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES) into atmospheric water‑budget studies.
• Use the isotopic ratio (HDO/H2O) to constrain moist processes and assess their influence on tropospheric moisture variability, including ENSO, MJO, and tropical cyclones.
• Compare TES observations to atmospheric general circulation models that include isotopic physics to evaluate model performance.
• Suggest model physics improvements and validate the TES isotope retrievals.
• Quantify changes in water‑vapor budgets in the subtropics and tropics.
