Position Description
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned research laboratory on Long Island in New York, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, dedicated, and detail-oriented individual as a Research Technician to join the Spector lab. The individual will work in a state-of-the-art laboratory studying the role of long non-coding RNAs in cancer and differentiation.
Position Responsibilities- The candidate will be involved in supporting laboratory operations and resource management for a team of 6 scientists, including ordering supplies and monitoring grant expenditures.
- Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Biology (or related discipline) is required (level I). A Bachelor’s degree in Science with 2 years’ practical experience working in a lab after completion of the degree (level II). - Skills/
Experience:
Experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning methods, PCR, qPCR, electroporation, running nucleic acid and protein gels. Knowledge in preparation of RNA samples and RNA‑seq libraries is a plus.
