Position Description
The Department of Chemistry at Columbia University invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist with an expertise in biomolecular simulation and statistical mechanics. The position will begin as early as August 10, 2026, with the possibility of renewal, subject to work eligibility and the usual standards for satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
ResponsibilitiesRun free energy perturbation calculations on complex biological systems such as ion channels, interpret the results, and develop novel free energy methods for complex problems.

QualificationsThe successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in chemical physics or a related field.
Minimum QualificationsA Ph.D. in Chemical Physics, or related fields, plus a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience.
Preferred QualificationsExtensive experience with molecular dynamics, statistical mechanics, biological simulation, and free energy perturbation methods.
