Job Overview

Coordinate and lead medical drug discovery clinical trial projects. Design and develop plans and process for a specific drug during the clinical trial process. Manage investigational product supplies and participate in internal audits. Develop and review specific research-related documents. Develop and coordinate research project budget, manage project progress and review project performance. Collect feedback and data from clinical trials and prepare reports for improvement of drug performance.

Manage outsourced Central Lab activities. Serve as the contact with partners and government agencies in drug approval processing.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses of lab data for our drug discovery pipelines with the assistance of an AI‑empowered platform.
  • Write technical papers and reports.
  • Prepare standards and specifications for operational protocols of the drug discovery platform.
  • Coordinate operations of the company’s medchem lab.
  • Coordinate the drug discovery projects with outsourcing researchers and in‑house researchers.
  • Collaborate with the computation department to improve the efficiency, scalability and precision of our drug‑discovery platform.
  • Design, develop, evaluate and implement well‑controlled biochemical and cell‑based assays to address target biology and drug biology.
  • Perform pharmacodynamic and efficacy studies of lead compounds in animal models.
  • Generate new cell‑line models to address project needs.
  • Organize and present scientific data at group and project team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and well‑organized records and a laboratory notebook.
  • Oversee lab inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Help identify and assess new cancer drug discovery opportunities.
  • Independently conceive and execute experimental strategies to lead/support multiple drug discovery projects and interrogate tumor biology to understand the mechanism of action of novel drugs and targets.
  • Troubleshoot various cell‑based assays and establish cell‑line models using genetic approaches.
  • Demonstrate extensive laboratory research experience and a desire to continue in a laboratory‑focused role.
  • Engage in collaborations with internal cross‑functional teams and external CROs.
  • Supervise junior scientists.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and keep them in compliance with company policies.
  • Develop AI solutions and optimize proprietary technology to accelerate drug discovery.
  • Design algorithms for protein structure analysis and biochemical processes using advanced mathematical methods.
  • Implement machine learning models and analyze datasets using statistical inference.
  • Document methodologies and production code.
  • Lead projects to develop theoretical models and computer‑assisted drug discovery data/information systems.
  • Perform data mining in various medical/biological/chemical data sources.
  • Develop and test features and algorithms for organic synthesis of molecules.
  • Organize and lead structural biology‑related experiments.
  • Use public and in‑house experimental data to develop data‑driven molecular force fields of higher accuracy to improve performance in tasks.
Qualifications
  • Master in Medicine or MD degree required.
  • One year of experience in clinical trial project management related duties required.
  • Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering required, and one year of experience in a position involving AI drug discovery management or research required.
  • MS or BS with more than two years of research experience in the field of cancer biology, cell biology or related.
  • Previous experience in drug discovery, either in an academic or industry setting, is preferred. In‑vivo experience with mouse tumor models is a plus.
  • High degree of proficiency in standard biochemical, cellular, and molecular biology techniques is required (transfection, ELISA, cell‑based assays, immunoblotting, aseptic cell culture, cloning, etc.).
  • Proven ability to work independently and design experiments, troubleshoot, interpret and report data back to teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
