Location: Pearl River

Position - Research Associate – Vaccine Research & Development (GLP Laboratory) Location – Pearl River, NY Contract – 6 Months with a possibility of extension Role Summary

  • Laboratory-based position within the Vaccine Research and Development – Analytical GLP laboratory group.
  • Perform routine sample testing and assay verification, and qualification studies in support of early vaccine GLP toxicology studies.
  • Assays include Immunoassays (MSD, ELISA, Hamilton), spectroscopic techniques (e.g., UV-Vis), and standard analytical separation techniques (FA, HPLC).
Responsibilities:
  • Perform analytical method qualification/verification and routine sample testing in support of GLP release and stability of early phase vaccine candidates.
  • Prepare samples, set up and run instruments, and analyze data.
  • Document experiments, analyze data, and provide conclusions obtained from sample testing contemporaneously in a notebook as directed.
  • Execute assay verification and qualification studies for GLP assays used in the release and routine analysis of vaccine candidates, with guidance.
  • Draft and revise laboratory methods and reports, with guidance.
  • Support assay training and transfer of methods.
  • Plan daily workflow to complete the tasks/experiments outlined by the supervisor.
  • Perform job responsibilities in compliance with GLP requirements, where applicable.
  • Contribute and participate in general laboratory maintenance activities, including maintenance of equipment and managing laboratory waste.
Qualifications:
  • BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline plus 2 or more years of related work experience, or
  • MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 0–2 years of experience.
  • Experience in bioassays (MSD, PCR-based techniques, Slot Blot), spectroscopic techniques (UV-VIS), and separation-based analytical techniques (HPLC-UV, HPLC-CAD) is preferred.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, with good laboratory skills.
