Position - Research Associate – Vaccine Research & Development (GLP Laboratory) Location – Pearl River, NY Contract – 6 Months with a possibility of extension Role Summary
- Laboratory-based position within the Vaccine Research and Development – Analytical GLP laboratory group.
- Perform routine sample testing and assay verification, and qualification studies in support of early vaccine GLP toxicology studies.
- Assays include Immunoassays (MSD, ELISA, Hamilton), spectroscopic techniques (e.g., UV-Vis), and standard analytical separation techniques (FA, HPLC).
- Perform analytical method qualification/verification and routine sample testing in support of GLP release and stability of early phase vaccine candidates.
- Prepare samples, set up and run instruments, and analyze data.
- Document experiments, analyze data, and provide conclusions obtained from sample testing contemporaneously in a notebook as directed.
- Execute assay verification and qualification studies for GLP assays used in the release and routine analysis of vaccine candidates, with guidance.
- Draft and revise laboratory methods and reports, with guidance.
- Support assay training and transfer of methods.
- Plan daily workflow to complete the tasks/experiments outlined by the supervisor.
- Perform job responsibilities in compliance with GLP requirements, where applicable.
- Contribute and participate in general laboratory maintenance activities, including maintenance of equipment and managing laboratory waste.
- BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline plus 2 or more years of related work experience, or
- MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 0–2 years of experience.
- Experience in bioassays (MSD, PCR-based techniques, Slot Blot), spectroscopic techniques (UV-VIS), and separation-based analytical techniques (HPLC-UV, HPLC-CAD) is preferred.
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Motivated, detail-oriented, with good laboratory skills.
