We seek a dynamic, energetic Associate Researcher Scientist to support the planning and implementation of NIH-funded studies that investigate ethical, legal, and social issues (ELSI) relating to the inclusion of people with disability in precision medicine research.
Working directly with the lead researcher, the Associate Researcher Scientist will support all aspects of these projects, including conducting literature review, quantitative and qualitative data collection, data analyses, and assistance with professional presentations and manuscript preparation.
The ideal candidate should have experience conducting empirical research, familiarity with ELSI research, and background in public health and/or social sciences scholarship. Interest and knowledge in disability studies is a plus. The Associate Researcher Scientist will work with the Ethics team at the Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics (CPMG), Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct academic literature reviews relevant to the studies.
- Support all aspects of data collection and analyses, including data management, data cleaning, analyses of survey responses, and manuscript preparation.
- Help supervise work of research staff.
- Communicate and coordinate work with researchers, collaborators, and research staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
As an Associate Research Scientist, this appointment will be covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the University and Columbia Postdoctoral Workers-UAW Local 4100.
