Our client is a long-standing and successful CRO with a supportive team culture. They are currently looking to add a Preclinical Microdialysis Study Director to their team. The company operates at a fast pace to service clients while maintaining a high level of quality. The company is locally based, and no travel would be needed. The company provides relocation assistance.
Salary/Hourly Rate:$120k - $140k
Position Overview:The Preclinical Microdialysis Study Director will lead the preclinical microdialysis program. This is a hands‑on role, working with animal models 80%–90% of the time. This role is typically from 8 am – 5 pm, but will require some extra hours to accommodate studies. The Preclinical Microdialysis Study Director for microdialysis may have direct reports, including Junior Scientists, depending on their level of management and overall experience.
The ideal candidate has worked as a Scientist in rodent microdialysis for 5+ years. Relocation is available!
- Create and execute microdialysis experiments on rodents as per client study requests.
- Perform, manage, and oversee the study as a whole.
- Mentor and guide more junior staff on study processes and activities.
- Communicate with clients regularly, including defining studies, answering questions, and providing updates.
- Calibrate equipment for the lab, troubleshoot equipment issues, or study challenges and take a proactive approach to handling lab responsibilities.
- Handle technical writing, including developing study plans, process directives, as well as client and internal reports.
- 5+ years of microdialysis experience working specifically with small mammals; this experience can come from academia, industry, or a combination.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. Clear, direct communication and an overall affable personality.
- Comfort troubleshooting study issues.
- Experience working directly with microdialysis equipment is needed for the Study Director.
- Experience in a CRO or fast‑paced setting.
- Experience managing or directing the responsibilities of junior‑level Scientists or lab professionals in an academic or professional setting.
- Expertise in other preclinical neuroscience domains.
- Working experience with programming tools, including Python or R.
- A PhD in a related area is highly desired.
- Master's degree candidates can be considered with 7+ years of experience and a strong level of lab maturity, project oversight, technical communication, and leadership.
