Postdoctoral Fellow in vascular development, function, and disease using zebrafish

Overview

The Torres-Vázquez Lab is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team investigating the mechanisms that regulate vascular development, function, and disease using zebrafish as a model system. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment and contribute to innovative projects at the interface of developmental biology, genetics, and disease modeling. The position is available immediately.

• A PhD in developmental biology, cardiovascular biology, genetics, cell biology, or a related field.
• A strong publication record or clear evidence of research productivity.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: zebrafish biology, molecular biology, genetics, signaling, mechanobiology, cardiovascular biology, developmental biology, gene expression analyses, quantitative imaging.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Evidence of experimental creativity.
• Zebrafish husbandry and experimental techniques.
• Confocal microscopy or live imaging.
• Genome editing and transgenic approaches.
• Gene expression analyses.
• Biochemistry.
• Disease modeling and functional assays.
