Research Assistant – Position Overview

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant will support ongoing laboratory research projects focusing on cellular‑molecular mechanisms of RPE‑photoreceptor interactions and related animal experimentation.

• Performs and assists in laboratory experiments investigating the cellular‑molecular mechanisms of RPE‑photoreceptor interactions.
• Conducts supervised animal experimentation, including strain maintenance, verification, husbandry, and in‑vivo assays.
• Works under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator to execute laboratory tasks.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or a related field.
• Minimum of six months experience in small rodent handling.
• Training and handling small rodents.

To be considered for the position, candidates should possess additional relevant skills and experience as identified during the review process.

Minimum starting salary: $33,930; maximum starting salary: $33,930. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.

• Physical activity: sitting seldom, repetitive hand motion (typing) nearly continuously, hearing/listening/talking nearly continuously, standing often, walking often, no running required.
• Other: no bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling; no climbing stairs or ladders; no lifting over 50 lbs.
• Work environment: office environment with protection from weather conditions or contaminants.
