Job Description

The Emotional Brain Institute (EBI) is a multidisciplinary institute aimed at addressing fundamental questions in neuroscience and neuropsychiatry. We seek to hire a research technician initially for a 3‑month period with a possible extension to aid in behavioral, electrophysiological, and microscopy‑based experiments on animals. Some weekends are required.

• The Research Assistant will help with setup of laboratory equipment, animal care, and colony management.
• The Research Support Assistant will perform laboratory and behavioral work with mice while assisting in gathering data for experiments.
• Preferred skills include experience in genotyping, brain slicing, immunohistochemistry, mouse handling and IP injections, mouse behavior, and stereotaxic surgeries.

• Bachelor's degree in biology, neuroscience, psychology, or animal behavior.

• Must have experience working with animals and data collection.
• High motivation to improve and learn, while making a contribution to a scientific field.

Prospective appointees will be:
1) checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs; and
2) screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
