Position: Research Associate / Postdoctoral Fellow - Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies
Location: New York

General Duties

Conduct academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others.

  • Develop research plans and proposals and participate in acquiring funding
  • Collect, analyze, and assure validity of data
  • Write progress reports; write and publish findings
  • Collaborate with internal and external colleagues
  • Adhere to standards for safety, hygiene, and ethical conduct as defined by the University and relevant outside parties.
Duties (Postdoctoral Fellow)
  • Conduct research in the field of Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies.
  • Write calls for application, edit, and oversee fellowship programs such as the Latino Data Project Fellowship, the Reportage Fellowship, and the Summer Travel Grants.
  • Collaborate with internal and external colleagues in grant applications, event organization, outreach, and advertising.
  • Support and collaborate with CLACLS initiatives such as its podcast, social media presence, and newsletter.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.

Other Qualifications

Preferred:
Demonstrated experience in applying for grants and fellowships, supervising fellows and staff, editing publications, and organizing events. The candidate should have completed their doctoral dissertation within the last five years.

Compensation

$65,000–$75,000 per year.
