The Postdoctoral Associate will join the BASE Lab in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at NYU School of Global Public Health. The postdoctoral associate will contribute to NIH-funded and other externally funded research examining how social determinants of biological health, including discrimination, neighborhood environments, and socioeconomic conditions, influence immunological aging across the life course.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and contribute to analyses of large epidemiologic datasets.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Assist with the development and preparation of grant proposals.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in research projects.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary investigators on NIH-funded and other externally funded research.
- Conduct research examining how social determinants of biological health including discrimination, neighborhood environments, and socioeconomic conditions influence immunological aging across the life course.
- Develop independent research projects that align with the mission and priorities of the BASE Lab.
- Contribute to the overall research activities of the BASE Lab and the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Successful candidates should have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, psychology, sociology, biostatistics, or a related field, strong quantitative analytic skills, experience working with large longitudinal datasets, and a demonstrated record of scientific writing.
