Market Research, Research Analyst, Financial Analyst
Lead a consumer research franchise under your own name - at an elite independent research firm whose work sits on the desks of CIOs and portfolio managers at many of the world's largest hedge funds and asset managers.
Our client is one of the most respected independent research houses in US equities. Uncommonly for the industry, this is a firm the buy-side genuinely reads - its views move real money, and its analysts are known by name to the most senior investors in the market.
The seat is a rare one: full ownership of the firm's research on the U.S. consumer and the associated stocks. You'll connect the big picture - spending behaviour, housing, wealth effects, rates - to company-level fundamentals and stock selection across the consumer space, supported by an exceptional quantitative toolkit and proprietary data stretching back decades. Few platforms anywhere offer this combination of audience, resources and editorial freedom.
Youwill:
- Own and build a published consumer research franchise carrying your name
- Drive stock-selection views across consumer discretionary and staples
- Blend top-down consumer analysis with granular company-level data
- Present your work directly to CIOs, PMs and analysts at leading institutions
- Set your own research agenda at a firm that prizes original, rigorous thinking
- An equity research analyst - sell-side or buy-side - with named, current or recent coverage of consumer sectors (retail, food & beverage, e-commerce, consumer cyclicals, household & personal products, leisure)
- VP/Director level, roughly 5-15 years in; the standout #2 or #3 on a top-ranked team, ready for a franchise of your own, is a particularly strong fit
- A genuinely strong writer, with published research to show for it
- At home drawing conclusions from large, messy datasets; macro fluency a real plus
- Authorized to work in the US (required)
This is a publishing research seat: less suited to index-level strategists or macro economists without stock-level consumer coverage, or to buy-side investors without written research output.
