The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. • Work closely with the principal investigators and laboratory members, including students, postdoctoral fellows, and research staff, to support the execution of ongoing research projects and assist with the day-to-day management of the laboratory.
• Contribute to multiple collaborative research projects within our laboratories and with investigators at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC), the City University of New York (CUNY), and Cornell University.
• Support research focused on the development and evaluation of antiviral therapeutics, neutralizing monoclonal antibodies, and advanced engineered tissue models for measles, mumps, and Nipah viruses.

Perform a broad range of laboratory techniques, including:

• Mammalian cell culture
• Biochemical and enzymatic assays
• Native gel electrophoresis
• Fluorescence-based assays and imaging
• Ex vivo and in vivo experimental studies
• Bioinformatic analyses
• Cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM)-related workflows
• Apply, optimize, and implement new experimental techniques to advance ongoing research projects.
• Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical methods and prepare internal progress reports.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, scientific reports, presentations, and other research communications.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new laboratory personnel, including students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scientists.
• Attend weekly laboratory meetings, seminars, and training activities with collaborating laboratories.

Perform administrative duties essential to laboratory operations, including:

• Ordering reagents, supplies, and laboratory equipment.
• Maintaining laboratory inventories.
• Organizing laboratory, storage areas and freezers.
• Reconciling purchase transactions.
• Submitting purchase requisitions.
• Maintaining research databases.
• Perform computational analyses to support research projects, as appropriate.
• Contribute to scientific publications, grant applications, and presentations at national and international scientific meetings.

• Two years of college or a completed A.A program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program.
• One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and/ or experience.
