Postdoctoral Associate, Pharmacy

Overview

Dr. Yanan Zhao’s laboratory in the Department of Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to assist with laboratory research, publications, and grant proposals.

• Conduct research and perform laboratory tasks and experiments under direct supervision.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data, and prepare detailed reports summarizing observations and conclusions.
• Present research findings in internal and external forums, including scientific conferences, lab meetings, and seminars.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation and grant applications, as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including teaching and training students and participating in related projects.

• Doctoral degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomedical/Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Clinical Diagnostics, Veterinary Sciences, or a related field.

• Strong background in microbiology, including experience with bacterial and/or fungal culture, antibiotic susceptibility testing, rapid molecular detection, and related laboratory techniques.
• Proficiency in developing and running BSL2 small animal infection models for bacterial and fungal pathogens.
• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, microscopy imaging, flow cytometry, and other techniques related to molecular microbiology and immunology.
• Proven track record of scholarly productivity, demonstrated by at least one first‑author publication in a high‑impact journal and additional co‑authored publications in relevant journals.

Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 per year (estimation based on role).
