** The base pay scale for this position is $71,564.06 - $78,010.40. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.

** What you will be doing
**** JOB DESCRIPTION
** This project is primarily supported by an NIH R01 grant, with Dr. Matthew Greenblatt of Weill Cornell Medicine and Dr. Xu Yang of the Arthroplasty Research Laboratory at HSSRI serving as Co-PIs. We will develop critical foundational components of a novel approach for the regeneration of amputated limbs by transducing a specific population of autologous skeletal stem cells to induce a blastema-like state, followed by implantation at the amputation site to initiate regeneration of the missing limb.
The candidate may also participate in other projects investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of orthopaedic implant osseointegration, including an ongoing project funded by the Department of Defense, with Dr. Xu Yang serving as PI.The postdoctoral fellow will report directly to Dr. Xu Yang for guidance on experimental design and research direction and will attend weekly laboratory meetings with Dr. Bostrom and Dr.
Greenblatt.
** YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
** Candidates with a recent Ph.D. in Developmental Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, or Neuroscience are highly desirable.
** YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
** Five years of postgraduate research experience in basic science.
** PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
** Continuously stand/walk to perform various biological experiments.
** ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
** Standard research lab.
** HAZARDS OSHA
** Category 1 Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials.
** POSITION & UNIT
ACCOUNTABILITIES *** + Design and execute experimental procedures and protocols involving cell and molecular biology techniques, tissue culture, histology, immunological assays, polarized and fluorescence microscopy, and animal models, including mouse breeding and genotyping. + Collect, analyze, and report experimental data to the Principal Investigator in a timely manner. + Maintain accurate and detailed records and databases of all laboratory work and experiments.
