Position Summary

Sarika Bio is seeking a highly motivated and hands‑on Senior Scientist or Principal Scientist, Antibody Develop ability & Protein Characterization to establish, execute, and advance develop ability assessment capabilities within our high‑throughput antibody production and screening laboratory.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in protein science, antibody characterization, biophysical analysis, and develop ability assessment. This individual will be responsible for designing and performing assays that evaluate the stability, solubility, aggregation propensity, self‑association, nonspecific interactions, and overall drug‑like properties of antibody candidates and other recombinant proteins.

This is a laboratory‑intensive role. The scientist will be expected to spend a significant portion of time at the bench operating analytical instruments, developing and optimizing assays, troubleshooting technical issues, and generating high‑quality data. The individual will also provide scientific leadership, build scalable characterization workflows, and work cross‑functionally to guide candidate selection and molecular optimization.

The position may be filled at the Senior Scientist or Principal Scientist level depending on the candidate’s experience, technical depth, leadership capabilities, and record of advancing protein or antibody candidates.

Key Responsibilities Antibody and Protein Develop ability Assessment
  • Design and execute develop ability assessment strategies for antibodies, antibody fragments, multispecific molecules, fusion proteins, and other recombinant protein therapeutics.
  • Develop and perform assays that evaluate critical develop ability attributes, including:
  • Aggregation and oligomerization.
  • Thermal and conformational stability.
  • Colloidal stability and self‑association.
  • Solubility and precipitation propensity.
  • Hydrophobicity and surface properties.
  • Nonspecific and polyspecific interactions.
  • Chemical stability and degradation.
  • Viscosity and high‑concentration performance.
  • Freeze‑thaw, agitation, temperature, and other stress responses.
  • Establish fit‑for‑purpose develop ability screening panels for early‑stage antibody discovery and lead optimization.
  • Integrate data from multiple assays to identify liabilities, rank candidates, and recommend molecules for further development.
  • Define assay acceptance criteria, controls, benchmarks, and decision thresholds.
  • Evaluate sequence‑and structure‑related risks in collaboration with computational and protein engineering scientists.
  • Translate experimental findings into practical recommendations for molecular engineering, formulation, purification, and candidate selection.
  • Support the progression of candidates from early discovery through lead selection and preclinical development.

Candidates are not required to have direct experience with every assay listed but should demonstrate broad expertise across multiple antibody develop ability and protein characterization methods.

Instrumentation and Technical Ownership
  • Serve as a technical expert and hands‑on operator for analytical and biophysical instrumentation.
  • Operate, optimize, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments used for protein characterization and develop ability testing.
  • Develop robust instrument methods and ensure consistent execution across users and projects.
  • Lead or support the installation,…
