Exciting Opportunity at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center:
Join the Craig Thompson Lab as a Research Technician!

The Thompson Lab is focused on understanding the fundamental mechanisms that regulate cell survival and how these processes contribute to cancer development. The lab studies how cells acquire and utilize nutrients, with a particular interest in the role that nutrient uptake plays in maintaining normal cellular function and preventing transformation. Through this work, the team aims to uncover the biological principles that govern multicellular life and identify new insights into the origins of disease.

Role Overview :
  • Laboratory Support
    :
    Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies. Responsible for lab supply ordering and keeping inventory.
  • Techniques & Assays
    :
    Perform specialized techniques, such as cell culture, cell separation, molecular biology techniques. Prepare samples for mass spectrometry and microscopy.
  • Data Management
    :
    Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
  • Collaboration
    :
    Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.
Key

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Proven basic laboratory skills and the ability to handle diverse tasks in a research setting.

  • Attention to detail and strong record-keeping habits.
  • Ability to follow protocols while troubleshooting when needed.
