Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

The Issler Lab (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow. Our lab, affiliated with the Departments of Neuroscience and Anesthesiology, studies the molecular mechanisms underlying mood disorders. We explore the role of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), an abundant class of epigenetic regulators enriched in the human brain, in mediating gene-environment interactions in response to stress, a risk factor for mental health disorders.

Our research approach spans basic molecular neuroscience, translational studies in animal and cellular models, and clinical research. We use mouse models, advanced cell culture approaches, and human post-mortem brain and body fluids, leveraging omics and data-driven approaches in our high-profile research.

We are seeking a highly motivated, critical, and inquisitive Postdoctoral Fellow trained in iPSC-based neuronal models and brain organoids to lead high-impact projects at the intersection of stem cell biology and molecular neuroscience. The ideal applicant will establish these cultures in the lab and design and conduct experiments on target lncRNA as well as genome-wide screens using cutting-edge genetic, molecular, and functional approaches.

Background in molecular analyses of biofluid samples (e.g., CSF, plasma) is a plus. Additional required skills include excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, and the availability to join the lab in the near future.

We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.

Our laboratory at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is part of a vibrant neuroscience community () with world-renowned researchers, offering outstanding intellectual and collaborative resources for cutting-edge research. Located in New York City, we provide access to a rich scientific network and the opportunity to live and work in one of the world's premier research hubs.

It is the policy of NYU Grossman School of Medicine to provide equal employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
