NIH T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship in Tuberculosis and Global Sepsis Research

The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is recruiting an MD- or PhD-trained postdoctoral fellow for atwo-year research positionsupported by an NIH T32 training grant.

The fellow will join a multidisciplinary research program led by two NIH-funded physician-scientists. The program spansdrug-resistant TB, TB-HIV coinfection, post-TB lung disease, sepsis, and infection-related critical illness, with expertise in clinical epidemiology, data science, immunology, pathogen metabolism and genomics, diagnostics, and therapeutics.

Research projects will be tailored to the fellow's interests and expertise andmay incorporate clinical, epidemiologic, laboratory, host- or pathogen-omics, and other quantitative data. The position includes structured mentorship, salary support, and funding for coursework and additional training in epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, research methods, or related fields.

Applicants with a strong background in translational science, a quantitative orientation, and/or training in epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, or related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. Strong scientific communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team are essential.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical or research experience inTB, drug-resistant TB, TB-HIV coinfection, post-TB lung disease, sepsis, or critical illness, particularly in global settings
  • Experience in clinical epidemiology or global health research
  • Experience with biostatistical analysis of longitudinal or clinical data
  • Experience in microbial genomics, host-response research, or translational infectious disease or critical care research

Applicants must hold anMD, PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree. Consistent with NIH T32 eligibility requirements, applicants must also be a U.S. citizen, U.S. noncitizen national, or lawful permanent resident.
