Position Summary

The Research Associate, Public Health Policy & Strategic Initiatives supports the Executive Vice President in advancing The Fedcap Group's Health Practice through evidence-based research, policy development, and content creation. This role conducts research, synthesizes complex information into clear, actionable insights, and develops policy briefs, presentations, reports, and other materials that inform decision making and advance Fedcap's work in prevention, public health, workforce development, and economic mobility.

A key responsibility is supporting the development of Civic Health, a new initiative exploring how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies can improve prevention and public health outcomes. The Research Associate will research emerging trends, help develop policy and educational content, and support convenings that bring together leaders across healthcare, technology, government, academia, and philanthropy to explore innovative approaches that strengthen prevention and improve health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Research & Policy Development
  • Conduct research on public health, prevention, workforce, artificial intelligence, health policy, and related topics.
  • Review and synthesize scientific literature, policy reports, and industry research into concise briefs, presentations, reports, and white papers.
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, funding, and industry trends that influence public health, prevention, and healthcare innovation.
  • Support the development of policy papers, publications, and educational content that advances The Fedcap Group's Health Practice.
  • Analyze complex information from multiple sources and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
Civic Health Program Development
  • Support the development of Civic Health, an initiative exploring how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies can improve prevention and public health outcomes.
  • Research emerging technologies, innovative practices, and policy developments that inform Civic Hall Health programming.
  • Help develop educational content and resource materials related to AI, prevention, and public health.
  • Support convenings, workshops, and collaborative events that bring together leaders from healthcare, technology, government, academia, and philanthropy.
Communications & Content Development
  • Draft presentations, briefing materials, reports, articles, and other written communications.
  • Translate scientific, technical, and policy information into clear, compelling content for a variety of audiences.
  • Prepare background research and briefing materials for meetings, conferences, and speaking engagements.
  • Support special projects and initiatives led by the Executive Vice President.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) or a related field, such as Health Policy, Public Policy, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Population Health, or a similar discipline.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience through internships, fellowships, research assistantships, or professional roles.
