Location: New York
- Develop, implement, and maintain computational tools and database systems for analyzing next-generation sequencing data
- Perform data quality control and comprehensive analysis of complex sequencing datasets
- Identify and investigate novel, clinically relevant research questions in cancer genomics
- Collaborate with scientists, clinicians, and researchers
- Contribute to scientific manuscripts and peer-reviewed publications
- Present findings to internal and external stakeholders, including at scientific meetings
- Maintain clear, well-documented code, pipelines, and workflows
- Participate in lab meetings and stay current with emerging literature in bioinformatics and cancer biology
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on molecular biology applications, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience working with high-throughput sequencing data
- Proficiency in R and/or Python
- Shell scripting skills
- Background in statistical genetics/genomics
- Familiarity with NGS analysis tools
- Experience in cancer research strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience presenting scientific findings and contributing to publications
- Strong interest in molecular and cell biology
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify data anomalies and troubleshoot effectively
- Collaborative mindset focused on delivering research-driven solutions
- Resilience and adaptability when navigating research challenges
- Ability to learn quickly and apply past insights to new problems
- Schedule of 37.5 hours per week and onsite work
Proficient in developing and maintaining computational tools and database systems for next-generation sequencing data analysis, with strong expertise in R and Python programming. Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and effective communication skills for presenting scientific findings and contributing to publications in cancer genomics.
