O ya Restaurant NYC Sushi Chefs

Contemporary Japanese restaurant o ya is looking for talented, friendly sushi chefs and line cooks for its second national location in the heart of Manhattan.

This is a great opportunity to join a strong and growing culinary team, led by 2012 James Beard award winning Chef Owner Tim Cushman. Chef Tim's flavor and food philosophies, along with an underlying foundation of disciplined organization and consistency, have earned numerous awards for Chef Cushman and the restaurant, including being named the #1 new restaurant in the US by the New York Times in 2008, Food & Wine Best New Chef in 2008 and Bon Appetit and Details magazines have recognized o ya as one of the top 10 sushi restaurants in the U.S.

As a self-taught chef, Tim looks for self-motivated, humble, professionals who are eager to learn. He hires individuals who are capable of, and inspired by, delivering high quality, detailed dishes to guests on a nightly basis.

Candidates must be serious about career and food, but be humble and ego-free, dependable and have a consistent, genuinely positive attitude.

Positions will be full time and part time.
