As a Retail & Games Supervisor, your role is critical in ensuring that the guest experience exceeds standards. This is achieved by keeping the retail areas clean, stocked, safe, and filled with infectious cheer.
Roles & Responsibilities Supervisory Duties- Supervise the daily operations of the Retail and Games team and any other assigned departments
- Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Splish Splash’s core values
- Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members
- Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all retail and games positions and backfill these positions when needed
- Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline.
- Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with New York law
- Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities
- Welcome and greet all guests as they enter retail locations
- Conduct opening and closing procedures of assigned unit(s) including food preparation and cleanup.
- Manage inventory levels by completing daily stocking of all gift shops, checking orders, and moving inventory between shops
- Ensure a variety of items are available for guests to purchase and that store shelves are fully stocked
- Proactively communicate inventory needs to leadership before items are sold out
- Collaborate with Retail Manager to merchandise stores and improve product sales
- Ensure employees are adhering to departmental and company policies (theft of merchandise/counterfeit training/etc.)
- Monitor cashier activities to ensure continuous accuracy and compliance with POS procedures.
- Ensure merchandise is well stocked and organized
- Maximize unit visual merchandising standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of store areas including exteriors.
- Manage inventory, focusing on stock par levels, shrink and waste controls.
- Be on alert for possible theft
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor or manager in a timely manner
- All other duties as assigned by leadership
Roles & Responsibilities
- Retail Supervisors at certain locations are also responsible for assuming additional skill game and arcade duties. For these team members, the additional roles and responsibilities may include:
- Crosstrain in the supervision of the Arcade and Skill Game areas
- Maintain game area in a neat, organized, and clean manner
- Ensure that game area remains properly stocked
- Resolve and/or elevate guest complaints to the proper management authority
- Look for opportunities to improve efficiencies and cost savings for the gaming operation
- Promptly escalates maintenance or customer complaints to the proper authorities
- No education requirements for this position
- 1+ years of previous retail, arcade, or point of sale work experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
