Position: UNIQLO Management Candidate (New Grad)
Location: New York

Overview

Our UNIQLO Management Candidate (UMC) Program is designed to prepare you to become an impactful store manager. The program lasts approximately nine months and you will be assigned to work in one of our U.S. stores, taking on responsibilities such as sales and inventory planning, layout and visual merchandising, profit and loss, people management, and customer satisfaction. Location is a U.S. store based on business expansion plans.

Relocation, housing costs, and benefits are subject to company policy.

Salary range: $72,000–$76,000 per year. Start dates:
January 2026, April 2026, July 2026. Duration: approximately 9 months.

As a UNIQLO Store Manager in training, you will join a community of diverse peers and be mentored by a Store Manager/Trainer to drive sales, build customer loyalty, and lead by example.

Anticipated Career Path

After successful completion of the training program, UMCs are placed in a store with an available opening as an Assistant Store Manager. Potential career path:

Store Operations
  • Manage opening, mid-day, and closing store procedures
  • Oversee cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards
  • Execute daily stock replenishment and manage backroom efficiency

Leadership & Management
  • Lead daily store operations under store manager guidance
  • Drive team motivation, staffing, and productivity
  • Participate in management-level strategic planning
  • Develop and execute sale and inventory strategies
  • Monitor performance and P&L targets
  • Analyze sales data to inform decision-making and merchandising adjustments
  • Optimize stock levels, manage inventory, and maintain sales floor standards
Training & Development
  • Engage in hands-on mentorship with Area Managers, Store Managers, or our Corporate training team
  • Attend workshops on people leadership, retail strategy, and visual merchandising
  • Receive coaching and feedback with progression checkpoints and evaluations
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (open to all majors)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
  • Available to join in-person orientation at our New York City office and New Jersey store during the first two weeks of the program
  • Flexibility to relocate to various locations over the course of your career
  • Flexible work schedule, including early mornings, late nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands

This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, and standing. It requires standing for long periods and may involve lifting at least 30 lbs. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May involve reaching above eye level. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.

Next Steps

Before being considered for interviews, a pre-screening questionnaire will be given to selected applicants. The interview process consists of three rounds of virtual interviews:
Information Session;
Store Manager/Director Interview; C-Suite and HR Leader Interview. Please expect a 4–6 week turnaround time. Interviews may begin in early October, and applications may close early if there is a surge of candidates.
