Assistant Merchant

Helmut Lang is looking for an Assistant Merchant to join our team. The Assistant Merchant will support the merchandise mix and focus on driving sales and profitability. The role is highly collaborative and partners closely with various cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be an analytical, organized, and a data-driven brand enthusiast who can combine complex analysis with market knowledge to produce actionable results.

• Support set up and maintenance of styles each season (Centric)
• Create and maintain a buy chart each season (Excel)
• Line sheet setup and maintenance (NuOrder)
• Aggregate and reconcile global orders each season
• Attend weekly design and production meetings
• Manage market preparation from sample organization and showroom setup, creating Product Knowledge materials, and sending the collection to international showrooms.
• Support in historical and trend analysis for line planning
• Calendar management and communication support

• College degree required
• 1-3 years relevant experience in Merchandising or Buying
• Proficient in Microsoft Office:
  Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.)
• Blue Cherry experience a plus
• Retail math training

Salary range: $28/hr
-31.25/hr*
