Role SummaryThe Inventory Technician is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, organization, compliance, product flow, and operational readiness across all back-of-house inventory operations. This role ensures all products are received, counted, organized, transferred, stocked, audited, and documented accurately while supporting the speed and efficiency of the retail operation.
The Inventory Technician directly impacts inventory integrity, fulfillment speed, audit readiness, operational efficiency, and overall store functionality. This role must operate with urgency, precision, organization, accountability, and strong attention to detail without sacrificing compliance standards.

Core Responsibilities and Exact Duties1) Inventory Receiving + Intake Processing
- Receive and verify incoming inventory deliveries accurately.
- Cross-check manifests, SKUs, product quantities, batch numbers, and expiration dates.
- Assist with intake processing and inventory system updates.
- Ensure all incoming inventory is compliant, properly labeled, and organized immediately upon receipt.
- Report discrepancies, damaged products, or manifest issues to leadership immediately.
- Support efficient intake flow to prevent operational bottlenecks.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.
- Assist with full inventory audits and discrepancy investigations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records across all systems.
- Monitor inventory movement and investigate variances proactively.
- Support audit readiness through disciplined organization and accurate documentation.
- Ensure inventory adjustments are properly communicated and documented.
- Maintain clean, organized, compliant inventory storage areas at all times.
- Organize products by category, vendor, and inventory flow standards.
- Follow FIFO rotation procedures consistently.
- Ensure all products are labeled, stored, and secured properly.
- Maintain operational readiness within all inventory workstations and storage spaces.
- Support efficient product accessibility for fulfillment and retail teams.
- Support sales floor replenishment and restocking operations.
- Prepare and organize products for floor transfers and fulfillment requests.
- Communicate low inventory risks and product shortages proactively.
- Support product movement between BOH and FOH efficiently and accurately.
- Assist leadership with inventory preparation for promotions, launches, and vendor activations.
- Maintain strict compliance with all New York cannabis regulations and company SOPs.
- Follow all product handling, transfer, storage, and security procedures.
- Maintain audit-ready inventory standards at all times.
- Assist with manifests, transfer documentation, and compliance recordkeeping.
- Ensure restricted inventory areas remain secure and organized.
- Escalate compliance concerns or inventory discrepancies immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness standards throughout all inventory and BOH areas.
- Ensure inventory workstations, vaults, shelves, and storage areas remain clean and organized throughout the shift.
- Support opening and closing cleaning procedures.
- Assist with trash removal, sanitization, and operational upkeep.
- Help maintain a premium operational environment and professional store standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with Purchasing, Managers, Bud tenders, and leadership teams.
- Respond quickly to inventory requests and operational support needs.
- Support high-volume operational periods with urgency and organization.
- Assist with operational projects, inventory resets, and workflow improvements.
- Contribute to a team-first operational environment focused on efficiency and accountability.
- Not a passive stockroom position.
- Not responsible for purchasing decisions or vendor negotiations.
- Not a customer-facing sales role, though this role directly impacts customer experience operationally.
- Not solely focused on counting products; this role supports compliance, fulfillment speed, organization, and operational efficiency across the business.
