Asset Protection & Loss Prevention Lead
The Asset Protection & Loss Prevention Lead role will report to the Head of Health, Safety and Security on the Global Real Estate Development team and support the Global Retail team. This position is responsible for building and scaling a global Asset Protection and Loss Prevention program across global retail.
Responsibilities- AP/LP Program Development
- Build and implement a global AP/LP framework across all retail locations.
- Standardize processes across incident reporting, investigations, and store security controls.
- Drive consistency across regions (reduce variation, shift the mean).
- Loss Prevention & Data Analytics
- Develop data-driven strategies to reduce shrink and fraud.
- Leverage POS data, incident reports (e.g., Safety Culture / Jira), and inventory discrepancies.
- Build dashboards and reporting to identify high-risk stores, repeat offenders, and fraud patterns.
- Store Security Standards
- Define scalable store protection standards including CCTV strategy, EAS/RFID usage models, product protection principles, and cash handling controls.
- Partner with Real Estate & Retail Design on secure‑by‑design store concepts.
- Investigations
- Lead complex investigations into organized retail crime (ORC), internal theft, collusion, and fraud schemes such as gift‑card abuse, returns, and payment abuse.
- Establish structured case management and evidence handling.
- Build relationships with law enforcement and external intelligence networks.
- Incident Management Integration
- Own the retail security component of incident reporting frameworks.
- Ensure all theft/security incidents are consistently reported, properly categorized, and followed up.
- Translate incident trends into preventative actions and SOPs.
- Training & Awareness
- Develop scalable training programs for store teams on theft prevention, fraud awareness (gift cards, scams), and suspicious behavior recognition.
- Deliver simple, repeatable playbooks for store teams.
- External Partnerships & Technology
- Own AP/LP vendor ecosystem, including guarding, CCTV analytics, and EAS/RFID vendors.
- Evaluate and implement scalable technology solutions.
- Support integration with incident management platforms and potential GSOC/monitoring capabilities.
- 10+ years of experience in Retail Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Retail Security, or related fields.
- Experience working in multi‑store, international, or fast‑growing retail environments.
- Knowledge of shrink reduction, theft prevention, fraud trends, and organized retail crime (ORC).
- Experience with retail security systems and controls including CCTV, EAS/RFID, and incident reporting platforms.
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and operational risks.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across multicultural teams and cross‑functional stakeholders including Retail, HR, Legal, Finance, and Technology.
