Responsibilities

Under general supervision, performs and supervises a variety of clerical and manual duties related to receiving, storing and shipping merchandise, supplies and equipment, including record‑keeping and preparing necessary documentation. Supervises associates where the highest grade of the nonsupervisory primary/majority work supervised is M‑4.

  • Supervises stockroom associates engaged in receiving and processing merchandise ordered on regular purchase orders, special orders, direct delivery, open orders, VRR, shipped directly or through in‑line processing to the branch from the vendor.
  • Records discrepancies on damaged shipments; initiates appropriate corrective action and completes necessary documentation.
  • Moves merchandise to/from receiving and marking area and ensures merchandise is stocked in appropriate shelf areas.
  • Assembles, prices and loads merchandise orders for delivery to main exchanges or branches; prepares intra‑exchange transfer vouchers as required.
  • May have signatory responsibility on accountable documents processed concerning merchandise, supplies and equipment received by the branch under existing merchandise systems, open‑order, warehouse merchandise, etc.
  • Prepares and/or reviews inventory management documents and reports; supervises and conducts stock counts and required inventories.
  • Operates motor vehicles as required.
  • May be required to open/close stockroom area for merchandise receipt purposes.
  • May supervise stockers and coordinate the movement of merchandise to the sales floor.
  • Ensures the security of cash, fixed assets and merchandise inventory; ensures compliance with fire, safety, sanitation and security regulations, and initiates work orders for repair and maintenance.
  • Supervises assigned people; establishes work schedules; assigns and distributes work; counsels people; prepares and/or approves performance reviews; approves/disapproves leave requests; conducts or supervises the conduct of people training; recommends personnel actions; and performs other supervisory functions.
  • Keeps abreast of, actively supports and implements the provisions of pertinent public laws, executive orders and directives relating to the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program within the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Works on hard surfaces and stands, stoops and bends.
  • Lifts heavy objects up to 40 pounds frequently and occasionally lifts heavier items.
  • May be required to perform snow removal duties.
  • May work inside and outside, in areas that are hot, cold, damp, drafty or poorly lit; work may be dusty, dirty and greasy.

Qualified Experience and Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of progressively responsible general experience, plus six months of specialized experience in which knowledge, application or use of stockroom regulations, procedures and forms was required.
  • Six months in a supervisory capacity or documented potential to effectively supervise.
Additional Qualifications/Requirements

Ideal candidate can work a rotating schedule within the hours/days in the sample schedule above.

Compensation

Hourly: $23.52
