Job Summary
Food Service Supervisor / Deli Lead responsible for directing and supervising all activities in the deli and food service department to achieve merchandising, sales, and guest service goals.
Responsibilities- Direct department personnel to meet departmental goals and communicate with store management and department supervisors.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and schedule all team members.
- Provide product information, selling suggestions, and active sampling to guests.
- Take guest orders and ensure timely, quality service.
- Maintain compliance with county, city, and company food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Order products and supplies, maintain adequate stock levels and merchandising standards.
- Oversee preparation, serving, and merchandising of deli/food service items including breakfast, lunch, dinner entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, grill items, hot and cold beverages, and snacks.
- Display items following department and company merchandising guidelines and follow product recipes without deviation.
- Rotate items, monitor quality, safety, and shrink control.
- Receive merchandise, audit invoices, and position cases in storage, walk-in coolers, and freezers.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and timely.
- Process cash register transactions, give change and refunds, and use scale-printer machine for correct pricing.
- Monitor product pricing, signage and placement; use shelf tags and signage.
- Maintain clean, neat, and orderly sales counters, prep areas, warehouse shelving, and walk-in coolers/freezers.
- Ensure personnel use proper safety equipment and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Prepare deli ingredients and handle meats, vegetables, fruits, spices, sauces, oils, and all equipment such as knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers, and rotisseries.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of prior experience in a fresh food environment, preferably in a managerial role.
- At least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation and active driver's license.
- Serv Safe certification preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable working in walk-in coolers and freezers; standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering merchandise.
- Dexterous with hands and fingers for use of cutting and cooking equipment.
$17.50 to $20.50 per hour.
