Location: New York

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation.

Essential Functions
  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors.
  • Maintains awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure environment.
  • Maintains a clutter‑free, clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Immediately corrects or reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assists Customers and is register‑trained, answers questions politely.
  • Greets all Customers with eye contact, smile, and saying “hello” throughout the store.
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers at all times.
  • Responds to Customer Service calls immediately and handles all issues courteously.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, mirrors, and replenishing restroom supplies.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
  • Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery in accordance with best practices.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandises all items per guidelines.
  • Understands Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrates integrity and honesty with Associates and Customers, safeguarding confidential information.
  • Follows all Mark-Out-of-Stock policies and reports disposals to Store Leadership.
  • Follows all cash, check, charge card, refund, void, and offline procedures with accuracy.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
  • Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment including PDTs, registers, and PC.
  • Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift >25 pounds.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies.
  • Additional qualifications may be required.
  • Stockroom shift requires pushing, pulling, and lifting >20 pounds.

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $17.50 - $18.00, dependent on experience, skills, and location. The listed range is one component of the total compensation package for employees; other rewards vary by position and location.
