Salary: $24.50/hour – $25.00/hour
Position OverviewThe Loss Prevention Agent is the asset protection and safety specialist for the store, reporting to the Loss Prevention Manager and Store Manager. The role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe environment, reducing inventory shortages, and supporting the store’s commitment to excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Train store team members on loss prevention and safety policies, procedures, and standards; ensure compliance and notify management of any violations.
- Assist loss prevention management with investigations involving internal and external customers.
- Patrol the store and post in designated areas as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager.
- Identify shortage risks and service all customers in accordance with company standards.
- Prepare incident reports for safety, injury, accidents, theft, cash handling, and shortages; review daily with the Loss Prevention Manager.
- Identify inventory shortages and collaborate on solutions.
- Notify management immediately of safety or loss risks to prevent accidents.
- Support audits and inventory counts.
- Maintain full confidentiality at all times.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications including Security Software, CCTV equipment, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws relevant to loss prevention.
- Knowledge of surveillance/security equipment and installations.
- Ability to travel to stores within the assigned area.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on the sales floor as required.
- Effectively communicate with customers and store personnel.
- Calculate figures and discounts accurately.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for long periods and read computer terminals.
- Push, pull, or move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom.
- Perform repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, and climbing.
- Work a flexible schedule that includes nights, evenings, and weekends.
- Maintain open availability at least five (5) days per week, averaging 32 hours or more per week based on business seasonality.
- No more than two (2) days off in the same Monday–Sunday workweek.
- Limit scheduling restrictions to no more than three (3) days per week, with only one restriction allowed between Friday and Sunday. At least one of the restrictions must be time based (e.g., "not available before 3:00 p.m.").
High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field preferred.
