Pay and Benefits
The starting pay range for this position per hour is $23.00 - $25.00. The full pay range per hour is $23.00 - $39.10. Pay is based on factors such as labor market, education, work experience and certifications.

The Assets Protection (AP) team safeguards guests, team members and the brand by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud, and ensuring product availability. They build relationships with store leaders, public‑safety officials and law‑enforcement agencies.
Responsibilities- Use surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to protect guests and team members while reducing shortage.
- Monitor guests via Target’s video surveillance system to identify potential theft risks.
- Implement AP practices and routines to prevent and resolve theft and shortage.
- Document cases accurately and effectively.
- Identify and respond to external theft and fraud, and coordinate apprehensions when necessary.
- Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by greeting guests, assisting them, and thanking them at the transaction.
- Greet guests with a friendly smile and eye contact.
- Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
- End each transaction with a sincere thank you.
- Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
- Ensure product is in stock and available by preventing and resolving theft.
- Respond to security incidents and submit appropriate documentation following AP policy and procedures.
- Promote a physical security and safety culture by creating awareness and training standards throughout the store.
- Work safely, comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
- Maintain positive relationships with public‑safety officials and law‑enforcement agencies.
- Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests.
- Perform any other duties based on business needs.
- Minimum 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet any state or local licensing and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
- Friendly and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology.
- Effective communication skills; work both independently and with a team.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
- Climb up and down ladders; apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
- Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Flexible work schedule: nights, weekends, holidays, peak shopping times; arrive on schedule and take required meal and rest breaks.
- Work in environments with varying temperatures and humidity; remain mobile for the duration of a shift.
