The Dispensary Technician is a part‑time, on‑site role based in Queens, NY. This role involves greeting customers, verifying identification, and guiding customers through product options based on their needs and preferences. The Dispensary Technician will explain product features, potency, and safe usage, while maintaining a professional and compliant environment. Daily tasks include processing sales transactions accurately, managing cash and electronic payments, and maintaining organized product displays.
The role also requires assisting with inventory counts, restocking products, checking for accurate labeling, and helping keep the dispensary clean, safe, and compliant with New York State cannabis regulations. The Dispensary Technician will collaborate with team members and management to support a positive, knowledgeable, and respectful customer experience.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and clearly with diverse customers.
- Experience or comfort with cash handling and basic point‑of‑sale systems, ensuring accurate transactions and adherence to cash‑control procedures.
- Ability to assist with inventory management, including stock rotation, product organization, and participation in regular inventory counts.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to regulatory compliance, safety, and confidentiality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move light to moderate stock, and work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous retail, dispensary, pharmacy, or hospitality experience is required with a minimum of one year; cannabis industry experience is a plus.
- Must meet all legal requirements for employment in a licensed cannabis facility in New York State.
