Summary

The Assistant Store Manager partners with the General Manager to support all store functions for a luxury retail location, including sales, operations, talent management, clientele development, and merchandising. This role drives a positive customer experience while ensuring operational excellence and execution of store strategies. The Assistant Store Manager helps coach and develop staff and supports profitability and inventory management.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and contribute to top- and bottom-line results for the location
  • Resolve customer issues, investigate trends, develop solutions, and coach staff on handling challenges
  • Train sales associates on standard operating procedures and product knowledge
  • Monitor inventory planning and maintain metrics such as in-stocks, turnover, and flow
  • Maintain loss prevention procedures and increase security in receiving and store operations
  • Review retail profit and loss, identify opportunities to improve profitability, and coach associates on performance

    Analyze sales and merchandising performance to identify top and slow sellers and execute merchandising strategy
  • Perform store opening and closing procedures and ensure timely communication of company messages to the team
  • Support store openings and roll-outs as needed
Requirements
  • 1 to 3 years of store management experience; experience with fashion or luxury brands preferred
  • BA or BS degree
  • Experience maintaining retail operations excellence including payroll, shrink management, and inventory management
  • Proven leadership in recruiting, developing, and mentoring associates
  • Strong retail math skills and ability to use analytics to drive business decisions
  • Operations focus with attention to internal KPIs and performance drivers
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work standard, peak, and holiday retail hours
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word and Excel
