Job Overview
This Retail Management Intern Program is a best-in-class retail leadership-focused experience for juniors, seniors, and recent graduates interested in a career in retail. Interns will receive a challenging hands‑on experience through functional area touch points, developmental classes, and executive exposure.
Program DetailsInterns are expected to work approximately 20-25 hours per week with a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The role requires a client‑first mentality, collaboration, and results orientation.
Key Responsibilities- Work in fashion and develop leadership skills as an Acting Sales Lead (key holder).
- Motivate associates to anticipate clients' needs and exceed expectations.
- Drive results by monitoring key metrics, identifying business trends, and opportunities.
- Utilize available tools and resources to ensure a client‑focused environment.
- Gain experience in merchandising through planning, executing, and adjusting visual directives.
- Partner with store leaders to create a great place to work and shop.
- Develop skills in recruiting, selection, and training of hourly associates.
- Support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in day‑to‑day store operations.
- Be Manager on Duty when the Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager is absent.
- Coach associates in the moment on client interactions and performance.
- Perform opening/closing procedures, manage cash, prepare nightly deposits, recover losses, clean, handle shipments, use reports for merchandising decisions, and maintain SOPs.
- Complete daily tasks to keep store running smoothly and meet standards.
- Adhere to dress code guidelines and represent the brand.
- Treat all with fairness, respect, and foster an inclusive, diverse, and safe culture.
- Current college junior, senior, or recent graduate.
- Client service orientation with the client as a top priority.
- Strong organizational skills: organize, delegate, prioritize, meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of visual merchandising standards and techniques.
- Accuracy in handling cash and transactions, including nightly deposits.
- Effective communication with clients, management, partners, and associates.
- Flexibility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Physical capability to lift up to 20 pounds and navigate sales floor and stockroom.
- Preferable prior retail sales or management experience.
- Technology proficiency and ability to operate a point‑of‑sale system.
- Initiative and ability to make thoughtful decisions.
