Pay & Benefits

The starting pay range for this position per hour is $27.00 - $29.00. The full pay range for this position per hour is $27.00 - $45.90. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience and certifications.

All About Assets Protection

Assets Protection (AP) teams function to keep our guests, team members and brand secure and to lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guests and also build relationships inside and outside Target, including store leaders and public safety officials and law enforcement.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Using surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure while aiding in the reduction of shortage.
  • Using Target’s video surveillance system to monitor guests and identify potential theft risks.
  • Implementing Target’s Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage.
  • Properly and effectively documenting cases.
  • Identifying strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud, and apprehension.
  • Creating an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments: greet guests warmly, resolve issues, end every transaction with a sincere thank you, support team efforts, maintain a positive attitude, deliver consistent service, support store sales by ensuring product is in stock, resolve theft through apprehensions, identify theft trends, prevent theft, monitor video systems, respond to incidents, promote a safety culture, demonstrate inclusivity, work safely, maintain positive relationships with law enforcement, participate in legal proceedings, and perform any other duties as required.

Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time‑frames.
Additional Expectations
  • Climb up and down ladders.
  • Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
  • Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds without additional assistance.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); arrive on time, work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks.
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity and other environmental elements while performing certain job duties.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
