Overview
Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the seafood department. Ensures budgeting and financial aspects are realized. Oversees clerks, monitors merchandising, rotation and inventory to promote optimal sales opportunities. Processes customer orders efficiently and accurately.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Does not supervise associates on a regular basis.
- Consistently provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service.
- Properly handle and merchandise all seafood products according to company policy.
- Display and demonstrate complete knowledge of all seafood products to the customer.
- Smile, make eye contact and thank the customer upon fulfilling requests.
- Maintain a neat, clean, organized workstation, according to 5S standards, at all times.
- Order all seafood product merchandise and supplies, including fresh product, frozen product, wrap and all other necessary items; learn product movement history and apply to accurate ordering.
- Ensure inventory control of both fresh and frozen products.
- Present and manage all displays for the entire department.
- Keep accurate seafood department records and adhere to predetermined budgets (financial aspects, payroll, wrap).
- Provide a high level of customer courtesy and service at all times, including accuracy of special orders such as shrimp platters.
- Ensure all associates adhere to company and state sanitation procedures and regulations.
- Properly train and schedule all new associates within the seafood department; communicate all rules and regulations to all associates.
- Operate all special programs within the Seafood department, including the fried fish program, the marination program and all demo programs.
- Maintain all factors of the computer‑generated ordering system.
- Set the ice display to correct standards daily.
- Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow‑through to achieve desired results and objectives.
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Satisfactory performance reviews.
