Deli Associate

Job Summary

Slices, packages, and sells various deli products, including meats and cheeses. Maintains the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including deli display cases. Provides assistance to members in the deli department. Team members carry out assigned responsibilities, support club policies, and uphold a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for members and colleagues.

• Provide a high level of customer service to members.
• Answer questions, recommend deli items, and respond to member calls and special orders.
• Slices, packages, and weighs deli products, including cheeses and meats.
• Assist members with product selection and sampling to aid purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Receive, inspect, display, stock, rotate, and store deli products following food safety and freshness policies.
• Ensure all products are fresh, meet quality standards, and remove out‑of‑date items promptly.
• Maintain the deli cooler, display cases, and inventory variety.
• Operate, handle, clean, and sanitize deli equipment, including roti‑sider ovens, utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
• Ensure scale systems function properly for accurate weighing and pricing.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures and perform additional duties as assigned, including assisting in other departments.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance, which is essential to the role.

• Work experience in a deli department preferred.
• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales preferred.
• Knowledge of deli products preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces. Tasks may require bending, pulling, reaching, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers, as well as cleaning agents. Occasionally, heavy or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds may need to be lifted with assistance.

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $22.97, subject to variations based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
