LOCATION: NYC Metro
POSITION SUMMARYThe overall function of the John Hardy Merchandiser is to ensure the continued growth of John Hardy within key national account locations. The Merchandiser facilitates all John Hardy sales strategies in store and provides ongoing support to store captains, including in store training, merchandising and event support. Frequent travel is required for this position.
ROLE SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES- Travel up to 70% of the time to visit accounts
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with store teams by understanding their focus and anticipating their needs
- Ensure locations are merchandised to John Hardy standards
- All backstock is on the floor, inventory is polished
- Educate sales teams on brand knowledge and selling techniques
- Engage with store leadership and stylist teams
- Establish John Hardy as a top jewelry brand in each location
- Negotiate and assist with floor moves to best floor locations
- Drive product productivity improvements
- Execute John Hardy team ad-hoc requests
- Host 3X annual formal brand training sessions at the accounts (February, June, and September)
- Host brand events in select locations quarterly
- Merchandise product and support the jewelry department in selling
- Host day-of events
- Manage in store visit schedule, book travel, schedule appointments, and prepare pre-visit agendas
- Manage travel budget and expenses
- Conduct post-visit summaries and follow-ups
- Attend weekly virtual check-ins with the John Hardy team
- Bachelor’s degree
- Intrinsic luxury sales professional with at least 2 years of industry experience
- Ability to understand client needs and provide support to yield business growth
- Organizational skills and a team player mindset
- Budget management, sales skills, and account management experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Proven track record in the achievement of sales results
- Structured and analytical thinker capable of developing sales strategies, effectively communicating them to retail partners, and driving them through to completion
- Energetic, authentic, collaborative, and humble; ability to develop a climate of enthusiasm, teamwork, and cooperation among colleagues and partners
- Proven ability to drive positive customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver measurable results
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 20 lb boxes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills required
