Summary
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations of the Woodbury Commons shop, driving sales performance, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining retail standards. This role involves financial reporting, team leadership, merchandising oversight, and close liaison with corporate functions to meet business targets. The position requires a strong interest in the Paul Smith brand and experience in luxury ready-to-wear retail.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with Corporate regarding financial budgets and weekly sales and performance reports.
- Prepare and communicate weekly financial and performance reports to the team.
- Ensure the shop complies with Health and Safety policies and company procedures.
- Maintain and increase sales by driving excellent customer service and meeting financial targets.
- Act as a brand ambassador within the neighborhood and support local marketing initiatives.
- Support stock management, place replenishment orders, and ensure correct stock levels in the Store Manager's absence.
- Ensure merchandising standards are met and work with Display & VM to update displays weekly.
- Manage recruitment, induction, training, discipline, and appraisals in liaison with the Shop Manager and HR.
- Assist with store scheduling and payroll by approving time cards on a biweekly basis.
- Maintain communication with Buying, Press, and Retail Offices to relay up-to-date information.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a luxury ready-to-wear retail management position.
- Experience with tailoring for men's and women's clothing.
- Proven ability to manage the shop in the Store Manager's absence.
- Ability to interpret sales data and reporting and use retail management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and driving sales.
- Strong knowledge of retail standards and stock management for front and back of house.
- Experience in training associates, recruitment, and performance management.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with strong planning and organizational skills and ability to work flexible hours.
