Retail Sales Associate

Pet Smart is seeking a full-time Retail Sales Associate passionate about pets and customer service. In this role, you'll engage pet parents, recommend products and services, and support pet health and wellness. You'll operate registers, maintain a clean, organized sales floor, stock shelves, and assist with in-store animals following safety and care standards. You'll promote grooming, training, and adoption programs while helping meet store sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to understand pet and product needs and provide tailored recommendations
• Operate POS system to process sales, returns, and loyalty enrollments accurately
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor and merchandise displays
• Support pet care standards by following safety, handling, and wellness guidelines for in-store animals
• Educate customers on pet nutrition, grooming, training, and available services
• Assist with inventory tasks including receiving, stocking, and cycle counts
• Collaborate with teammates to meet store sales, service, and performance goals
• Follow company policies, loss prevention, and cash-handling procedures
• Support adoption and community events that promote animal welfare
• Participate in ongoing training and development to grow retail and pet care skills
