Front of the House Clerk

Join our team as a Front of the House Clerk and help us provide an exceptional shopping experience! Team members hired for this position will be assigned to one specific store department based on experience, interests and current hiring needs.

Available departments may include Bakery, Deli, Produce, Grocery, Meat, Seafood, Pizza, Candy, Dairy, Cheese, Pasta/Mozzarella, Customer Service or Cashier. Once hired, you will work primarily within your assigned department and receive the training needed to succeed in that role.

Responsibilities will vary depending on the department but may include:

• Greet customers and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Learn about the products offered within your assigned department.
• Answer customer questions and assist with product selections.
• Stock, organize, rotate and replenish merchandise or displays.
• Prepare, package, weigh, label and price products as required.
• Slice, portion or serve food in accordance with department procedures.
• Check product quality, freshness and expiration dates.
• Keep department displays attractive, fresh and fully stocked.
• Operate department equipment safely after completing required training.
• Process customer purchases and payments if assigned to a cashier or customer service position.
• Maintain clean, organized and sanitary counters, equipment and work areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation and workplace safety guidelines.
• Work closely with your department manager and fellow team members.
• Perform other department-related duties and functions as assigned.

• This floor/counter position requires that the individual must speak, read, communicate in the English language
• The ability to work in a busy, fast-paced grocery store environment.
• A willingness to learn the products and responsibilities of the assigned department.
• The ability to follow instructions, procedures and company standards.
• Previous grocery, retail, food service or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• The ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• The ability to bend, reach and lift merchandise or supplies as required.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
