Deli Sales Associate

Location: 840 Hooper Road, Park Manor Plaza

Assume responsibilities as a Deli Associate, including stocking, customer service, food preparation, cash handling, sanitation, inventory control, and supportive tasks across departments.

• Keeps deli service areas well stocked and appealing at all times to meet customer demands. Smiles and greets customers, answers queries, and resolves concerns promptly and professionally.
• Ensures freshness and condition of merchandise in display cases, correct pricing, proper signage, and timely rotation. Handles spoiled or damaged products per company procedures.
• Operates slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses. Packages items and applies stickers showing price, weight, and date. Prepares ready‑to‑eat foods to individual customer orders. Prepares platters of sliced meats, cheeses, and vegetable trays. Uses knives and kitchen utensils safely.
• Follows company recipes and safety policies when preparing food such as chicken, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and other hot or cold items.
• Operates cash register, ensuring proper money handling to avoid cash overages or shortages. Follows state and company laws related to tobacco and alcohol sales.
• Maintains general sanitation in the department. Follows cleaning schedules and guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, counters, display cases clean and meet health and OSHA requirements. Disposes of trash properly.
• Assists in inventory control using time and temperature practices. Minimizes losses by returning products to refrigeration, properly handling products, keeping necessary logs, and following recipes.
• May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if trained (training provided).
• May assist with receiving, unloading, checking‑in, breaking‑down, and storing deliveries using a power jack or hand jack if trained (training provided).
• Cooperates with co‑workers and superiors to ensure the department functions smoothly and continuously improves job performance.
• Uses all company‑provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company‑sponsored footwear.
• May be called upon to assist in other departments.

Hourly Pay Rate Range: $17.00 – $24.00 per hour

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or experience:
Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). No prior experience required.
