This full-time position places you at the heart of daily warehouse floor operations. Working under the guidance of floor supervisors and managers, you are responsible for maintaining organized aisles, restocking merchandise directly from pallets, and delivering helpful customer service to visiting restaurant operators and food service professionals.
Key Responsibilities on the Warehouse Floor- Merchandise Stocking & Facing: Unload boxes from pallets, restock individual items onto warehouse shelves, and front-face products for a tidy and accessible presentation.
- Inventory Rotation & Food Safety: Practice first-in, first-out (FIFO) rotation to ensure products do not expire on the sales floor. Assist in monitoring stock to reduce shrinkage, waste, and damage while following HACCP guidelines.
- Price Accuracy: Verify that shelf tags accurately reflect up-to-date pricing and current market figures.
- Safety & Sanitation: Maintain clean aisles through regular sweeping and scrubbing. Swiftly clean up spills, clear plastic wrap and debris, and monitor the floor for potential safety hazards.
- Stock Monitoring: Alert department supervisors promptly when merchandise is running low or out of stock.
- Customer Assistance: Greet members courteously and help them locate products quickly across various departments.
Success in this wholesale environment relies on practical abilities and physical stamina rather than extensive formal education:
- Basic proficiency in reading and arithmetic.
- Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with team members and customers.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including the mandatory use of steel-toe boots.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs, push or pull palletized goods weighing up to 500 lbs, and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Comfort working in dynamic warehouse conditions, including variable temperatures near receiving docks and inside refrigerated or freezer areas.
