Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Sales Representative to join our apparel company based in New York City. This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional with strong industry connections and the ability to manage and grow business with major retail and wholesale accounts. The Sales Representative will play a key role in expanding the company’s customer base, strengthening existing partnerships, and driving consistent revenue growth.

The ideal candidate has experience selling apparel, understands the retail and wholesale landscape, and is comfortable working with high-volume or strategic accounts. This position requires excellent communication skills, a results-oriented mindset, and the ability to represent the brand professionally in all customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities Sales & Account Development
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing retail and wholesale accounts
  • Leverage industry connections to open new business opportunities and expand account reach
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue goals
Customer Presentations & Selling
  • Present apparel collections and product assortments to buyers and key decision-makers
  • Guide customers through product offerings, pricing, and order placement
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and volumes in alignment with company objectives
Order Management & Execution
  • Oversee the sales process from initial presentation through order confirmation and delivery
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate order entry, production timelines, and on-time shipment
  • Monitor order status and address any issues proactively
Market & Trend Awareness
  • Stay informed on apparel trends, customer demand, and competitive activity
  • Provide feedback to product development and merchandising teams based on customer insights
  • Identify opportunities to expand assortments or introduce new product categories
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with merchandising, production, sourcing, and logistics teams to support account needs
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution
  • Support forecasting and sales planning initiatives
Relationship Management & Brand Representation
  • Build long-term, trust-based relationships with buyers and partners
  • Represent the company’s brand, values, and products professionally
  • Participate in meetings, showroom appointments, and industry events as needed
Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of sales experience in apparel, fashion, or consumer goods
  • Proven ability to manage key accounts and drive revenue growth
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Established relationships with major retail or wholesale accounts
  • Experience selling apparel in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong understanding of sales cycles, pricing strategies, and order management
Professional & Technical Skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic sales systems
