Position

Summary

The purpose of the Business Development Manager is to research and identify new brands with strong potential for inclusion in the brand portfolio, while also driving continuous growth with existing brands. This role is additionally responsible for managing promotion activities for all collections, delivering ad‑hoc client presentations aligned with the Intercos corporate image and strategy, and generating new business. This position is based in New York, NY

Essential Functions
  • Drive sales and promotional activities across assigned brands and product categories.
  • Lead new business efforts, including brand acquisition to expand the sales portfolio.
  • Manage the overall brand portfolio to ensure strategic growth and alignment.
  • Monitor sales performance and ensure achievement of budgeted targets.
  • Develop and maintain deep, ongoing knowledge of all brands within the portfolio.
  • Engage continuously with clients to understand their needs and deliver exceptional service.
  • Establish customized product strategies with monthly reviews and adjustments as needed.
  • Create tailored product presentations to support sales pitches and promotional efforts.
  • Prepare clear, detailed briefs to activate product development across global factories.
  • Track and update the status of all product development projects.
  • Oversee all phases of development, including formula selection, color approval, packaging decisions, and related components.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date sales pipeline across all required formats (BPM, Excel, and others).
  • Meet with new and existing clients as needed to support business development.
  • Travel within the U.S. and Canada to visit customers when appropriate.
  • Travel to Italy for training sessions on new products, when applicable.
  • Participate in industry exhibitions and events.
  • Develop deep expertise in both products and packaging.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Knowledge of the cosmetic industry and prior sales experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong time‑management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong product and business orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to achieving company objectives.
