My team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Financial Advisor to join our dynamic team at Northwestern Mutual in Midtown East Manhattan. This is a high-energy, performance-driven role designed for a proactive professional who excels at relationship building and business development. You will work directly with senior advisors to identify new opportunities for financial planning, comprehensive wealth management, and insurance and turn prospects into lifelong clients.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development:
Proactively identify and engage high-net-worth prospective clients through networking, referrals, cold calling, targeted outreaches. - Prospective Client Management:
Maintain a Robust CRM to track prospective clients and meet quarterly activity targets. - Relationship Management:
Sit on client and prospective client calls with senior advisors as an associate Financial Advisor, take notes, and be part of the collaboration process of onboarding new clients. Also run prospective client and prospective client calls on your own to identify new opportunities. - Administrative and Team Operations:
Maintain advisor calendars and ensure timely client appointments. Coordinate document preparation and processing with other team members. Respond to client inquiries and service requests.
- Credentials:
Must be licensed with Life, Accidents and Health insurance License and SIE and Series 6 and Series 63. If you do not have these licenses but you are a good candidate for the role, I will sponsor you to get the licenses at the beginning of your role with my team. - Integrity: A commitment to a “client first” sales approach.
- Communication
Skills:
Maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and exceptional service. You can translate complex financial material into simple persuasive narratives. - The “Hunter” Mentality: you are not afraid to pick up the phone or walk into a room and start a conversation.
- Other traits: a motivated self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills. A team player with the confidence to manage multiple complex tasks and deadlines. Client focused, detail-oriented and eager to grow in the financial planning and wealth management field.
- Proven experience of at least 1 year or more in the financial services industry.
- Demonstrated ability in sales and relationship management within the financial sector.
- Proficient in math skills necessary for financial planning analysis and investment decision making.
- Familiarity with underwriting processes and principals of financial planning is a plus.
