About the Role

This is a territory‑based Area Sales Representative role that requires residence within the New York City, New York region. The role is remote‑based with local travel required to visit retail partners. A personal vehicle is required and mileage will be reimbursed. Approximately 30% of the travel may involve overnight stays.

Responsibilities
  • Sell Progressive Leasing’s product and value to small‑to‑midsize retail partners so that they promote the product to their customers rather than competitors.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with retail partners to demonstrate key performance indicators, technology integration, and point‑of‑purchase marketing materials to increase balance of share (BOS).
  • Manage the sales pipeline within the assigned area.
  • Achieve company objectives through effective planning, sales goal achievement, and thorough follow‑up on retail partner needs.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership and marketing departments within Progressive Leasing and retail partners to follow up on leads and expand the customer base.
  • Work with internal product management teams to ensure retail partner needs are met.
  • Identify and secure new retail partners that could benefit from Progressive Leasing’s products and services, and convince them to contract with us.
  • Build and maintain relationships with established retail partners to drive profit margins and improve operational efficiency.
  • Negotiate contractual agreements with new and existing retail partners.
  • Drive long‑term results by building advocacy through in‑store training, one‑on‑one meetings, and successful onboarding.
  • Work in an entrepreneurial environment, taking pride in making a difference for our customers.
  • Resolve compliance cases through the implementation and enforcement of policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; equivalent work experience may be substituted.
  • 3‑5 years’ experience in retail sales, field sales, sales training, and/or account management.
  • 3‑5 years’ experience in cold calling, hunting, or prospecting new B2C or B2B opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience exceeding quota and impacting growth, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interact in a professional setting.
  • Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Moderate‑level experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Moderate‑level experience with Salesforce.
  • Previous training experience with others (preferred).
  • Strong work ethic, high initiative, and interest in modern technology and software applications.
  • Ability to work with management to achieve sales goals.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to create detailed business plans for account growth.
  • Refined presentation skills and comfort addressing large groups.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify sales and growth opportunities within the market.
