Sales Manager
SummaryThis position is responsible for leading and maximizing the potential of the sales team while managing relationships with key customers, identifying new market opportunities, and driving revenue growth. The Sales Manager will develop and execute strategic sales plans, support team development, and serve as a liaison between the sales team and upper management to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Strategy and Team Leadership
- Set clear sales goals and objectives, develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company targets, and proactively identify and pursue high-potential prospective customers to drive business growth.
- Lead and foster team building initiatives, train, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives, providing continuous coaching and development opportunities to meet and exceed performance targets.
- Monitor individual and team performance using key metrics, provide actionable feedback, and identify skill gaps to organize necessary training or support for improved team effectiveness.
- Report regularly to upper management on team performance, market trends, and strategic recommendations, including suggestions for enhancing sales strategies and strengthening team capabilities.
- Sales Execution and Lead Development
- Identify new sales prospects through various channels and convert them into customers.
- Maintain and build relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Generate and submit daily activity reports including calls, visits, and sales status to management.
- Submit customer orders referencing pricing, product details, and availability.
- Conduct onsite, showroom, or video product demonstrations tailored to client needs.
- Analyze sales data to identify high-potential leads and prioritize outreach accordingly.
- Utilize CRM tools to track the sales pipeline and follow up with leads in a timely manner.
- Territory and Client Management
- Plan, organize, and execute sales trips across North America.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, sales activities, and business plans.
- Monitor and analyze territory performance through monthly and annual reports.
- Deliver products and provide hands‑on customer service when necessary.
- Segment the territory based on client potential and develop focused strategies for each region.
- Regularly review client account health and implement action plans for at‑risk relationships.
- Marketing and Trade Engagement
- Attend trade shows and industry events to gather leads and strengthen client engagement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance marketing materials and regional campaigns.
- Stay abreast of industry trends to identify emerging markets and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Provide feedback to the marketing team on competitor strategies and customer responses.
- Initiate and lead localized marketing campaigns tailored to regional customer profiles.
- Technical Support and Product Expertise
- Provide post‑sale support including technical training and issue resolution.
- Liaise with the technical team and manufacturers for product troubleshooting and repair.
- Continuously update professional and technical knowledge through self‑learning and collaboration.
- Strive for constant improvement by identifying more efficient and cost-effective approaches in work processes.
- Uphold high ethical standards within the workplace, promoting a respectful and transparent environment.
- Report any irregularities or problems promptly to management facilitating timely and appropriate solutions.
- Maintain effective and open communication with co‑workers, and external contacts.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, fostering a culture of compliance and professionalism.
- Take responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe working area, in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Support colleagues and other departments as required, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
